Access eGovernment Guide Introduction

Making Smart Choices

The Access eGovernment program will help county governments make smart choices about planning and implementing eGovernment. The main focus is on developing dynamic, information-rich websites that meet the needs of county residents and county government.

Providing Alternatives

Good eGovernment initiatives offer citizens and businesses alternative ways to find information, communicate with officials and staff, and transact business—at their convenience. It's multi-channel, 24/7, and user-driven.

A Work-in-Progress

Like eGovernment itself, this guide is in a constant state of development.

Quotable

Dallas is the fifth largest 'cyber city' in the nation, so we've been working hard for the past year to provide businesses and citizens of Dallas County the ability to transact business online. We wanted a web site with more than just information. Now we will have user-friendly methods of accessing government services over the Internet, which will result in user convenience, reduced costs, easy access to information and increased productivity.
